The Equalities and Human Rights Commission in the UK wanted a project that confronted racism head on, its causes, and how an inclusive and tolerant society deals with bigotry and prejudice. George the Poet was the first choice for a project like this. His work is amazing and he’s a brilliant onscreen presence. We hoped he’d be interested in writing something and fortunately he agreed and delivered the poem within a week .
The one day shoot was pretty straightforward. George was magnificent as we’d expected. And the resulting film speaks for itself.
