The texture of the bark was amazing. Apparently the ancient Romans used to make sandals from it and having seen the stuff I imagine even in its rough state, a pair of sandals would be pretty comfortable. At this point in the shoot I think all of us thought a material from the stuff looks pretty impossible.

Another interesting fact; cork is a kind of oak tree.
