Arguably the most nerve wracking moment of the whole project was building 2 tonnes of rostrum and crane on the solid marble floor of the Grade 1 listed Lasdun Building in central London.

After what seemed like an endless round of plans and drawings of the proposed crane, I finally got the go-ahead. In the past while working as a cameraman I’d never that given much thought to issues like this, certainly if my safety wasn’t directly at risk. But now, as a producer, well it was a different proposition. This rostrum was also my camera position for the show, and even though I was busy, there were one or two moments where I wondered how the marble floor was handling the strain.
