I may have been a little more effected by the saki than I realised when I walked past an ally connecting two tiny streets and saw this scene. Anyone familiar with the out and out weirdness of Japanese horror films will get what I mean. She looks like she’s about to unfold herself, turn slowly towards you, and follow you for the rest of your life, or until you just give up and accept some unspeakable fate.

Well she did slowly unfold herself. She did turn and stare blankly at the foreigner taking her photograph… as she talked on her mobile.
